The Sherwood Basketball Organization (SBO) is committed to providing meaningful basketball opportunities for youth throughout our community. Whether a player is stepping onto the court for the first time or preparing for high school competition, our focus is on developing confident athletes, supportive teammates, and responsible young people. We believe basketball is more than a game—it's an opportunity to build character, create lasting friendships, strengthen our community, and inspire a lifelong love of the sport.


Mission Statement

The Sherwood Basketball Organization (SBO) is a nonprofit organization (93-1295041) dedicated to providing a development-focused basketball experience for youth in grades 3–12 who reside within or attend schools in the Sherwood School District. We welcome athletes of all skill levels and strive to create opportunities that foster skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, character, and a lifelong passion for the game of basketball.

  • Put players first by ensuring every decision supports the growth, well-being, and positive experience of our youth athletes.
  • Develop character through sport by teaching teamwork, respect, perseverance, leadership, and accountability—skills that extend far beyond the basketball court.
  • Create a safe, positive, and competitive environment where every athlete feels supported, challenged, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
  • Foster a lifelong love of basketball by making the game fun, engaging, and accessible for players of all skill levels.

Sherwood showed up and took Seattle by storm! Huge congratulations to our 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th Grade boys A teams for taking 1st place at the HoopSource Seattle Ascension Tournament this weekend. These teams brought grit, max effort, and a team-first approach every game—competing for every possession, trusting each other, and staying connected as a group. They headed north to challenge themselves against new competition and came home on top. Proud of the way they competed and represented.
